چکیده

Sézary syndrome (SS) is a rare, leukemic type of cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL), for which extracorporeal photopheresis (ECP) first-line therapy. Reliable biomarkers to objectively monitor the response ECP in patients with SS are missing. We examined quantitative and qualitative impact on natural killer (NK) cell activity patients, especially their functional ability antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity (ADCC). Further, we addressed question whether magnitude effect ADCC can be associated anti-cancer efficacy patients. assessed numbers NK cells, activity, treatment based blood tumor staging cohort 13 (8 women, 5 men) treated as Blood samples were collected before start after an average 9 months uninterrupted treatment. reduced compared healthy individuals showed tendency recovery long-term treatment, independent clinical Patients marginal increase (≤1.5 AU-fold) or lack failed respond clinically while increased reduction burden. NK-mediated selectively enhanced might mechanism underlying addition it possibly serve reliable biomarker SS.

Extracorporeal photopheresis in Sézary syndrome: hematologic parameters as predictors of response.

Data were analyzed from 23 patients with Sézary syndrome (defined by erythroderma, more than 10% circulating atypical mononuclear cells, and peripheral blood T-cell clone) undergoing monthly extracorporeal photopheresis as the sole therapy for up to 1 year. The cohort showed a significant reduction of skin scores during treatment (P =.001). Thirteen patients (57%) achieved a reduction in skin s...

[Enhancement of antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity by tandem Fc multimerization].

Monoclonal antibodies are being used as therapeutics for a number of cancers, such as leukemia, breast and colon cancers, and a lot of monoclonal antibodies specific for tumor-related antigens have been on clinical trials. Antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) is one of the major mechanisms by which antibodies exert anti-tumor effects. ADCC occurs through interaction between the Fc do...

Neurolymphomatosis associated with Sézary syndrome.

BACKGROUND Mycosis fungoides and Sézary syndrome are cutaneous T-cell lymphomas characterized by the epidermotropism of tumor cells. Neuropathic disease is rare during mycosis fungoides and Sézary syndrome and usually results from a central nervous system involvement in late stages. Neurolymphomatosis is defined as the infiltration of the peripheral nerves by tumor lymphocytes. It has been desc...

[Extracorporeal photopheresis in dermatology].

Extracorporeal photochemotherapy or photopheresis is an immunomodulatory therapy that combines leukapheresis with phototherapy. Blood from the patient is processed to give a leukocyte-rich plasma, which is then treated ex vivo with a photosensitizer and ultraviolet A radiation before reinfusion back into the patient. The exact mechanism of action of photopheresis has not been fully elucidated a...
